Brian and Lauren Thomas
Youth and Worship Pastors
Brian and Lauren Thomas serve as youth pastors and worship pastors at Victory Assembly and Shawnee West Christian Center.
Brian and Lauren met at Cetral Bible College where Brian studied Contempoary Worship Leadership, and where Lauren studied Christian Counseling/Psychology. Lauren worked as a Resident Assistant in the dorms, where she peer counseled the students on her hall. Brian was a member of the band 57:7. The group's primary focus was leading youth into worship as they traveled from camp to camp during the summer months, and various youth events and coventions during the school year. Brian and Lauren formed a relationship while traveling with HeartSong, a CBC sponsored worship ministry group. After graduating from Central Bible College in May of 2012, Brian moved to Kansas City and began working at the church.
In September of that same year, Brian and Lauren were married and soon after became youth pastors. They also teach the Gospel Project on Sunday mornings to the youth group. Youth ministry is something they are very passionate about. Their vision for the youth group is that they would become the New Testament Church of today, a community of active, living faith. And while they have been actively involved in the worship ministry since they joined the church, it was in May 2013 that they took on the leadership role of the worship ministry.
